Sauk Rapids Ready to Ride the Tide of Rapids River Days Festival

(KNSI) – Sauk Rapids River Days bubbles up excitement all over town the next three days.

Attitudes will be frothy starting at 5:30 Thursday with the weekly Rock the Riverside concert. The opening act is Jennifer Lamb-Randolph and Nick Scott. Stone Road takes the stage at The Clearing at 7:00. At Sauk Rapids-Rice Middle School, royalty will be crowned as part of the Miss Sauk Rapids Pageant. The coronation begins at 6:00.

The festival marches into the weekend with the Rapids River Days Parade on Friday evening. Over 80 units and 16 marching bands are confirmed for the event. They’ll follow a route from north to south on Sixth Avenue. There are cash awards for the best decorated floats.

Saturday is sublime for premier palates with the Rapids River Food Fest. Over two dozen food vendors will be set up at Municipal Park, plus live music, family fun, and a craft market. It runs 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. All proceeds raised are put back into the community through scholarships and other awards.
