(KNSI) – Foley Fun Days saves the best for last with the Grande Parade
It is scheduled for Wednesday evening at 6:00. Organizer Juanita Beauchamp goes through the route that will soon be lined with spectators. “It starts on Norman Avenue/Second Avenue, and it goes across the highway. So, it goes on 2nd Avenue, past the funeral home, then takes a left and goes down Dewey street down to 8th [Avenue], goes past Mr. Jim’s, and then everybody can disperse at the roundabout.”
Beauchamp says from music to floats, this year’s roster has everything. “We do have 10 bands from all over the state, and then we have the Foley band. So, we have 11 bands in total, and then we have about 100 or a little over 100 parade units.”
Afterwards, there is live music until 10:30 p.m., a raffle, and the Midway will still be going. In the afternoon, the royalty will be leading bingo at City Hall.
