Roadwork Alert: Lane Closures Coming to Busy Stretch of County Highway 81 in Waite Park

(KNSI) – A Stearns County road project could cause headaches for drivers on a heavily traveled route in Waite Park.

Beginning this Monday, a resurfacing project on County Highway 81/3rd Street North, between Highway 15 and 12th Avenue North, will lead to lane closures. The weather-dependent project will take until the middle of October to complete.

Crews are redoing the road, adding concrete curb and gutter repair and replacing some storm sewers. The first phase will involve one lane in each direction open to traffic. No detours will be posted during the initial phase.

Motorists are strongly urged to find alternate routes to minimize delays.
