(KNSI) – St. Cloud officials are ready to show off improvements at 10-10 Park on the east side.
The public is invited to a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The event will include remarks from city leaders and informal tours of the facilities.
The improvements were funded by a 2022 levy approved by voters through a referendum. The site at 1119 10th Avenue Southeast received new playground equipment, plus a splash pad, extra green space, improved lighting, and handicap accessibility enhancements.
Beyond the physical upgrades, the park will also host a new community facility. 10-10 Park is home to a city-run Community Outpost (also called a COP House), joining the original location on 13th Street South, which is a cooperative effort between the police department and the Greater St. Cloud Public Safety Foundation. The facility will house teams from various state and county agencies and, like the southside location, will focus heavily on recreational programming.
This brings the total number of planned Community Outposts to three, with work also underway on a third location at Salem Lutheran Church on Riverside Drive.
The COP Houses are a collaborative effort between the St. Cloud Police Department and the Greater St. Cloud Public Safety Foundation.
