(KNSI) – The Waite Park City Council will have a traveling work session Monday, with the first stop coming at a very familiar place.
Now meeting at the District 742 Administration Office, city officials will once again head to Waite Park City Hall. They will attend the groundbreaking ceremony of the expansion/renovation project at 4:30 p.m. Construction is expected to last 16-18 months, roughly doubling the size of the building. It will completely remodel all three wings, including the government center and council chambers, the police station, and the fire station.
After the groundbreaking, officials will drive to Rivers Edge Park for the rescheduled dedication of two concrete baseballs at the entrance to the quad fields. The markers were donated by the family of Herm Bartz, the city’s former public works superintendent. Bartz’s passion was supporting baseball in the community at all levels. The ceremony begins at 5:00 p.m.
After the two events, the council returns to the DAO for the final half of the work session and a regular meeting.
