(KNSI) – St. Cloud Cathedral girls’ track made the podium at this week’s Class A state meet.

From an overall points perspective, the squad took third as a group, their best finish in 20 years. It’s no surprise the result translates into great individual performances. The 4×200-meter relay team set the all-time Class A record. The anchor racer completed the mad dash to the line in 1:43.21. The team is made up of Amelia Newiger, Aubrey Lesnau, Julia Vega, and Erika Salaski.

Salaski added to her sterling performance with a fourth-place finish in the 100-meter sprint and was seventh individually in the 200-meter race. Lesnau was fifth in the 400m, and Vega came in ninth in that event.

Cathedral is also celebrating its boys’ golf team. They drove, chipped, and putted their way to 8th place at the Class AA state tournament. The best individual result was 29th place. They played at Ridges at Sand Creek, ranked the best public course in Minnesota.
