(KNSI) — Over 4,300 customers are impacted by a power outage affecting downtown St. Cloud, the Hester Park neighborhood, as well as parts of Sauk Rapids and the St. Cloud State University campus.
Xcel Energy says the issue began at 4:17 p.m. on Tuesday, and no cause has been released. The utility estimates power restoration will be complete by 7:30 p.m. That timeline is subject to change as more is learned about the problem.
Drivers should be prepared for blinking red lights at several intersections. Treat the crossings as four-way stops.
Xcel is asking for patience.
