(KNSI) — The St. Cloud Area School District 742’s PAKRAT Roll and Read book bus is hitting the road starting today to spread the joy of reading throughout the community.
PAKRAT is an initiative with 742 and the Local Activities and Education Foundation. The goal is to keep every child reading to prevent the summer slide.
The bus runs Mondays through Wednesdays and is open to kids of any age from birth through eighth grade. Students can hop on board, pick out a book to borrow at no charge and return it to the bus when they’re done.
Mondays:
Stop 1: 10:15 -10:45 YMCA
Stop 2: 11:00 -11:25 Madison Kidstop
Stop 3: 11:35 – 12:00 Westwood Kidstop
Stop 4: 12:10 – 12:35 Kennedy Kidstop
Stop 5: 12:50 -1:15 Roosevelt Boys and Girls Club – 345 30th Ave. N.
Tuesdays:
Stop 1: 10:15 -10:50 Bel Clare Estates
Stop 2: 11:00 -11:25 Quarryview Preschool
Stop 3: 11:30-11:55 Discovery ESY
Stop 4: 12:00-12:35 Discovery Kidstop
Stop 5: 12:45-1:15 Pantown Apartments
Wednesdays:
Stop 1: 10:15-10:35 Oak Hill Kidstop
Stop 2: 10:45 – 11:10 Lake George – by the Municipal Complex
Stop 3: 11:20 – 11:45 Talahi Kidstop
Stop 4: 11:50-12:15 Promise Neighborhood
Stop 5: 12:25-12:50 Southside Boys and Girls Club – 1205 6th Ave. S
Stop 6: 1:00-1:25 Eastside Boys and Girls Club – 320 Raymond Ave. NE
The bus will not run the week of June 30th through July 4th.
