(KNSI) — The filing window for the Stearns County Commissioner District 4 seat has closed, and five candidates have stepped forward.

Amin Ali, Shawn Blackburn, Darrell Breuestle, Mike Conway, Frank B. Imholte, and Bob Johnson will be on the ballot for the August primary to fill the vacancy created when former Commissioner Leigh Lenzmeier abruptly retired in April.

Conway, also the St. Cloud City Council President, announced his candidacy on KNSI on May 23rd. Both Bruestle and Johnson filed on May 20th, with Ali filing on May 22nd. Blackburn turned in his paperwork on May 29th, with Imolte filing on June 3rd.

The five will square off in a primary election on August 12th, with the top two vote getters moving on to the general election on November 4th.
