(KNSI) – The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency is warning that air quality will decline throughout the weekend.
Central Minnesota will be in the orange category, which means wildfire ash and other smoke particulates are set to affect sensitive groups. Those in the most danger include people with lung or heart disease, the elderly and the very young, and those who work or exercise outdoors for a prolonged period of time.
Even healthy people could notice a burning of the eyes or throat when exposed to the air. The agency says the alert will likely stay in effect until sometime Monday.
