(KNSI) – The St. Cloud Police Department has scheduled its annual review of the Community Policing Agreement for Thursday, June 5th.
First completed in 2005, the document has to be looked over each year. The original document was the product of 12 meetings, held once per month, to address the fact that the SCPD had been listed in a state report of racial profiling.
The police department is required to use an objective set of criteria to evaluate officers who may be susceptible to profiling and to track use of force responses along racial lines. Major revisions were made in 2017 and 2018 as immigration became a hot-button topic.
The meeting will take place from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at police headquarters. The agenda states there will be a 50-minute question and answer session followed by a brief presentation on the history of the agreement and how SCPD implements it into their everyday procedures.
