(KNSI) — The City of St. Cloud is asking for the public’s help to conserve water on May 13th while crews perform planned work at the Calvary Hill Booster Station.
The Calvary Hill location includes a booster station, a ground storage reservoir and an elevated storage tank. These are used to provide drinking water to the City’s second pressure zone in southwest St. Cloud. The Calvary Hill Booster Station project is being completed to increase the City’s ability to move drinking water to the second pressure zone for everyday use and fire suppression.
To help reduce stress on the system, the city asks people to water lawns and gardens ahead of the work, turn off the tap when brushing teeth or shaving, and also refrain from doing laundry or running the dishwasher until the work is done. There should be enough water pressure and volume after the work is done, but they are asking for voluntary reductions while work is in progress.
Assistant Public Utilities Director Shanna Czeck says, “Small actions by many residents can make a big difference. We appreciate your cooperation and your efforts.”
The work is part of a scheduled infrastructure improvement project.
Updates throughout the maintenance work will be posted here.
