(KNSI) – Downtown St. Cloud is about to open a kid-friendly attraction, local leaders expect guests will be asking where they can get a meal nearby everyone in the family is excited about.
Visit Greater St. Cloud Executive Director Rachel Thompson is ready to dish the skinny on what to do before or after you hit the Great River Children’s Museum. “This one was really geared in combination of the highly anticipated children’s museum in downtown opening up, where can those kids get the energy that they need?”
She recommends a trip to Val’s on the East End for a milkshake, whether it is a traditional strawberry or vanilla flavor, or one of their candy creations. Just up the road in Sauk Rapids, the Dutch Maid Bakery is highlighting its banana split donut. Some other kid-friendly places showing up on Tuesday are Christine’s Cheesecakes and Munch Munch Mochi Donuts.
Every parent knows a meal is about more than dessert. Thompson says this category is tailor-made for the local roller rink, which first had an entry in 2024. “One we saw new to the scene last year was the St. Cloud Skatin’ Place. Now, that’s somewhere we don’t typically think of as far as restaurant, but they do have a really robust concession stand, and this year, it is their state fair mini donuts that they put on for restaurant week.”
G-Allen’s in Sartell knows every child wants to bite into a juicy cheeseburger, and Pizza Ranch thinks a tot’s eyes will light up when they see their buffet.
