(KNSI) – St. Cloud Area Restaurant Week has traditionally started on a Monday. That’s not the case this year.
Visit Greater St. Cloud Executive Director Rachel Thompson says organizers wanted to take advantage of the fact that the whole world will be dining out this weekend. “Mother’s Day lands on Sunday. We are absolutely going to capture that and get both weekends included in this year’s Restaurant Week. Kicking off on Mother’s Day, lots of wonderful brunches on that lineup, for sure.”
Restaurant Week comes to a simmer, appropriately enough, with the category ‘Mom’s Favorites.’ Thompson remarks nothing is more relaxed than brunch, which in this area means a trip to Granite City Food and Brewery. “We’ve all become pretty familiar with the Granite City brunch, the monstrosity that it is. If you leave hungry, I think that’s your own fault, but they are creating a little bit more high-quality into that type of menu.”
Thompson is pleased to share that in addition to new items, Granite City is beginning to branch out to other locations across the state. Coyote Moon’s brunch also made the list. Comfort foods like biscuits and gravy from Jule’s Bistro, shepherd’s pie from Olde Brick House, and spaghetti and meatballs from Pasta Buckets are on the menu.
If you’re looking for some zip, try the Nashville hot chicken sandwich at Lincoln Depot or taste the exotic with grilled margarita shrimp from Star of India. A link to all the details is here.
