(KNSI) — Chick-fil-A in St. Cloud is hosting a fundraiser today to help the Sundby family with medical expenses following a teen’s devastating head injury last month.
The restaurant has proclaimed today Brownies for Blake Day. All day, proceeds from every purchase of a brownie will be donated to the family. Brownies can be purchased in person or for larger catering orders, customers can place an order via the Chick-fil-A website or app.
April 23rd, Blake Sundby was guarding another player with his body turned when the lacrosse ball caught him flush in the back of the head. Even with a helmet on, the strike caused him to buckle and pass out. Sundby was taken to CentraCare – St. Cloud Hospital where he suffered a seizure and then was airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center where he has remained sedated and under 24 hour care.
Last week it was revealed by doctors that they believe Blake had an underlying brain aneurysm and the ball hit him just so, causing it to rupture.
