(KNSI) – A project meant to heal the mind through art is coming to St. Cloud for Stroke Awareness Month.
According to a press release, the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance and CentraCare Neurosciences Stroke Center are inviting the community to experience a unique mask-making event designed to give a voice to those affected by brain injury, including stroke, which is classified as a non-traumatic brain injury.
The Unmasking Brain Injury Mask-Making event will take place on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Whitney Senior Center’s Herberger Room. The event is free, and everything needed to make a mask will be on site. This event is part of a statewide initiative to get 1,000 people living with the effects of brain injury to communicate their unique perspectives and altered outlooks through art. Participants will decorate a mask, which will travel across the state to raise awareness about the effects of brain injury.
All are welcome to participate, whether you’re a brain injury survivor, caregiver, professional, family member, or friend. May is dedicated to National Stroke Awareness Month.
