(KNSI) – Temperatures could reach 80 degrees this weekend, and St. Cloud bars and restaurants will be ready to help customers celebrate the blast of summer.
City crews will close 5th Avenue South between West St. Germain Street and 1st Street South Wednesday morning from 6:00 to noon to install temporary dividers that will block off the outer lane of the road to traffic. The change will allow 7 West Taphouse, the Pioneer Place on 5th, and others to set up outdoor patio spaces.
It hasn’t been announced yet, but patios usually pop up along West St. Germain downtown near the Pickled Loon and White Horse, among other establishments. Expect crews to be working down that way later in the week.
Outdoor dining picked up steam during the COVID-19 pandemic, when strict capacity limits were in place. It has quickly become a summertime tradition in St. Cloud.
