(KNSI) – Bravo Burrito in St. Cloud is staying open late Saturday for the final event of its month-long 40th anniversary bash.

Bravo After Hours is for those 21 and up. It will transform the restaurant into a nightclub reminiscent of the alley behind its original location. Owner Mike Lardy says when the restaurant was downtown, there was a little extra character as the sun went down thanks to its neighbor across the way. “Bravo was founded April 16th, 1985 on Fifth Avenue downtown St. Cloud, across the street from the Red Carpet.”

The event runs from 9:00 p.m. to midnight. The kitchen will be closed, but customers can enjoy snacks, beer, margaritas, and other drinks while they bob their heads to DJ Soulful Sounder’s work. Expect plenty of mood lighting and music to match.

Lardy expects another round of memories to be resurrected. He says the restaurant has a lot of them, ranging from mundane to unique. Lardy recalls last year when they catered the wedding of a couple where the groom’s parents met the midwife they used to deliver him at Bravo Burrito. Lardy still keeps in touch. “When I started here, the kids were elementary school kids, and now they’re all grown up, and they have families, and…they don’t even live close to here, but when they come through town, I see them.”

Bravo held a special last week where it rolled back the prices on its items to 1985 levels for any customer who came in dressed in restaurant merchandise.
