New Jade Garden Restaurant Brings in Crowds of Customers

(KNSI) – A new restaurant has quickly caught the attention of customers in Sartell.

Jade Garden Asian Cuisine reflects its owner, Vanida Scott. She grew up in a household where she learned to pull the best dishes from China, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam. Staff started with a two-page menu and allowed diners at the grand opening to determine what would be served going forward. Scott has cut the menu in half with three options as the clear favorites. “Pad Thai was the number one. And then followed by sweet and sour chicken and Mongolian beef.”

Scott says the number of customers so far is above what she anticipated. “It was great. It’s more than I expected it, [the] very first couple weeks, so I hope it’s going strong like that.”

Scott is working with a small crew of three people, but this is not the first Asian restaurant to her name. She had a similar one in Iowa dating back a few decades ago. Scott moved to central Minnesota with her husband for his job and, with roots firmly settled, is getting back to cooking for her community.

Jade Garden is located at 101 7th Street North and is open from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
