(KNSI) — The City of St. Cloud officially has its new city administrator after the council confirmed Mayor Jake Anderson’s selection of Public Works Director Tracy Hodel for the job.

She received unanimous support during Monday’s council meeting and spoke with KNSI News immediately after the vote, telling us there is no place else she would rather be, and she is looking forward to the next chapter. “I’m just really excited to continue to work with all the great city staff members and the community members that I’ve grown to appreciate and are grateful for. We have a lot of very passionate and dedicated staff members here that I am excited to continue to work alongside them, just in a different capacity. I see it more as an opportunity to continue to do different things and unique things.”

Hodel has led the city’s 135 public works staff, which has been recognized nationally and globally over the years for its innovative work at the wastewater treatment plant, particularly in sustainability and energy.

She will start in her new role on May 12th after a special swearing-in ceremony. As city administrator, Hodel will oversee St. Cloud’s day-to-day operations and help implement the policies and priorities set by the mayor and city council.
