(KNSI) – Starbucks workers in Sartell have voted to unionize.
The baristas at the location off Highway 15 and Riverside Avenue South voted to join Starbucks Workers United. According to a press release, they have become the 14th store to join the union in Minnesota and the second in the area. The other Starbucks is at 502 2nd Street South in St. Cloud.
These workers will join more than 11,000 nationwide who have joined the union at 570 stores in 45 states and the District of Columbia.
The latest move comes as Starbucks and Workers United work on contracts. Recently, baristas at dozens of locations held an April 1st work stoppage to call out the coffee giant for alleged union busting.
