(KNSI) – A St. Cloud Tech science instructor earned an A+ after advancing out of the Wild Card Round in the America’s Favorite Teacher Contest.

Angie Haus is in the quarterfinals after getting enough votes in a second-chance bracket, putting her in the top 1%. America’s Favorite Teacher wins $25,000, a feature in Reader’s Digest, a trip to Hawaii, and a school assembly with Bill Nye the Science Guy.

She has three rounds left to go and needs the public’s help to advance. She must be in first place by April 17th at 9:00 p.m. She is currently in third.

Haus told KNSI News in an email, “I never thought I could make it this far. My community of voters includes past and present students and families, friends, family and strangers. It has been amazing to be a part of it.”

Each person can cast a free vote every 24 hours. Additional votes can be purchased as a fundraiser for the Planetary Society. Two-for-one voting days appear regularly, where each vote counts double.

The contest started in early March. To vote, click here.
