(KNSI) — The cause of a fire at Place of Hope is under investigation.
According to a critical incident report from the St. Cloud Fire Department, they were called to 511 9th Avenue North at about 3:45 Monday morning. They arrived to find the residents had evacuated the building and a fire in the stairwell. Thanks to the sprinkler system, the flames were kept under control, and firefighters were able to get the rest of it put out.
The sprinklers helped limit damage. Crews had to ventilate smoke from the building. No one was hurt.
