(KNSI) – The St. Cloud Rox have signed four more players for the upcoming summer season, all with Minnesota ties.
Jaixen Frost was on last year’s team, appearing in 44 games to help the Rox to the Northwoods League playoffs. Frost hit .259 with 20 RBIs. He was brightest defensively as a utility player. Frost played second, third, and short, plus the outfield. As a high schooler, Frost was a first-team all-state selection in Iowa. He plays collegiately for the Hawkeyes.
Jonathan Dobis is a freshman player for the Minnesota Golden Gophers. He went to St. Thomas Academy and was all-conference and all-metro. He was a standout on the mound and at the plate.
Shortstop Tanner Recchio is from Lakeville and plays college ball for the Tommies. He is a defensive specialist and a speed demon. Recchio finished fourth in the Summit League in stolen bases his freshman season. He already has Northwoods League experience, having previously been on the roster of the Minnesota Mud Puppies.
Jackson Cooke is a University of Pittsburgh Panther, playing in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Edina native is a top-tier catcher. He was selected for the Northwoods League all-star game a year ago with Thunder Bay.
The Rox open their season in late May.
