(KNSI) — It appears Mother Nature is easing up on her weather shenanigans for central Minnesota.
On Monday, a winter storm watch was issued for the area, as we were in line to get between 5″ and 10″ of snow. Overnight, that changed, and we are now in a winter weather advisory until 7:00 Wednesday morning.
Forecasters say the heaviest snow will fall this afternoon through tomorrow morning, with St. Cloud expected to see 3″ to 4″ of snow. There is still a sharp gradient for where the heaviest snow will fall as Stearns County alone could see between 2″ and 8″.
A wintry mix is expected to fall starting this afternoon and change to light snow this evening. After midnight, it will change back to a wintery mix through midmorning tomorrow and then transition to rain before the system exits the region.
