(KNSI) – Minnesota Sixth District Congressman Tom Emmer will hold a telephone town hall Wednesday, giving voters from Forest Lake to St. Cloud a chance to hear from their elected representative.
Republican lawmakers have been scaling back town hall-style meetings nationwide in the face of disruptions at recent events. A call-in session is a compromise that still allows for give-and-take between the public and their elected officials.
The event starts at 5:30 p.m. Anyone signed up in advance should be called on their phone and asked to log in. For everyone else, they can access the meeting by dialing 833-425-1492.
Emmer says his office prioritizes transparency and accessibility for constituents. No information was given on how long the event may last.
