(KNSI) – This weekend may get a little messy as an early spring storm system will bring snow and mixed precipitation to parts of the state.

For now, the St. Cloud area is not under any kind of watch or warning. After a high in the low 60s expected for this afternoon, we’ll dip down to around freezing overnight, and it will be cloudy for tomorrow. There’s a strong chance for rain in the late afternoon before it transitions to rain, snow, and freezing rain overnight. Forecasters are expecting 1-3″ of accumulating snow. Sunday also sees a chance for snow with a high in the upper 30s.

Monday, the cool, wet pattern continues with highs in the upper 30s, and then a chance for rain and snow exists through at least Thursday with temps not climbing out of the mid 40s. The average high for this time of the year is in the low 50s.
