(KNSI) – A bird of prey from St. Cloud and her mate are soaring into the hearts of people all over the globe.
Peregrine falcons have returned to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources FalconCam nest box. The two love birds have been captured demonstrating courtship and preparing for eggs by creating a nest in downtown St. Paul in the gravel, called a scrape.
The 12-year-old female falcon fledged from St. Cloud and has nested in the box since 2016. The man of the house was hatched in Gary, Indiana, 16 years ago. This is the second year they’ve mated.
