(KNSI) – A Waite Park man who pleaded guilty to selling a fentanyl laced pill to a woman who died several hours later has been sentenced to seven years in prison.

Prosecutors say police found the woman dead inside her home in St. Joseph on October 24th, 2022. Investigators searched her phone and found lengthy exchanges from the day before between her and Jibril Ibrahim referencing controlled substances, how many pills she wanted, and where they would meet. The last exchange talked about a drug sale that happened roughly five or six hours before she died. Ibrahim closed the conversation by saying, “Enjoy hun.”

In November of 2024, Ibrahim pleaded guilty to one count of third degree murder.

Judge William Cashman sentenced Ibrahim to seven years with credit for 306 days served.
