(KNSI) – A road through Albany will close this week as tree removal continues in preparation of a major summer road project.
Drivers on County Road 157 between Highway 238 and the western city limit must take a detour on Thursday and Friday. CR 157 will be closed during the day but will reopen in the evenings. Over the last two weeks, crews have been clearing trees along the corridor, leading to delays.
Traffic from the west will be rerouted to Interstate 94 using County Highway 11 in Freeport. Vehicles from the east are diverted to I-94 using Highway 238. CR 157 acts like a frontage road for I-94, so the effect on the average commute should be minimal.
The project timeline could change depending on the weather.
