(KNSI) — St. Cloud Area School District 742 says it will offer more hours for absentee voting for the upcoming referendum.
The referendum will ask two questions. The first is to fund controlled entrances, a storm shelter that’s in line with current building codes, fire and safety upgrades, expanding the kitchen and serving area, and renovations and improvements for career and technical education, music, art, and science classrooms. The other asks to fund the construction of an indoor multipurpose athletic facility for district and community use. Question one must pass for question two to be considered.
Early voting is already underway at the district offices during regular business hours, which are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., but starting Tuesday, April 1st, hours are 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. that day and Thursday, April 3rd. Saturday, April 5th, voting is open from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Residents can vote early through Monday, April 7th. Election day is Tuesday, April 8th. Voters that day will go to the polling location where they voted for the November 2024 election.
An informational session about the referendum is coming up on Saturday, March 29th at 10:00 a.m. at the Great River Regional Library in downtown St. Cloud. A public information and Apollo tour is set for April 5th at 10:00 a.m. at the school.
