(KNSI) – A level three predatory offender is being released from prison and will move back to St. Cloud at the end of the month.
Dontez Martinis Davis was arrested in January 2016 after he raped a woman in a St. Cloud hotel room. A woman testified that she met Davis while staying in town and he told her that he had nowhere to go. She testified that she had agreed to let Davis stay with her as long as he didn’t attempt anything sexual.
Davis got on top of her and attempted to pull down her skirt. The woman escaped his grasp and got to the door but Davis cut her off. She began to scream as he pulled her back towards the bed and assaulted her. Davis allegedly grabbed her by the throat and threatened her to ensure she stopped fighting back.
Afterwards, he told her to pick him up some cigarettes, which is when she used a cab to go to the police. Davis agreed to a plea deal for assault and 3rd degree criminal sexual conduct.
Davis was found guilty of assaulting a corrections officer while housed at the Stillwater prison in 2018. He attacked a female guard after she allegedly showed him disrespect by demanding he stand facing her during an inmate count.
Davis will move into the 100 block of 12th Avenue North on March 31st.
A notification video will be posted on the City of St. Cloud website before that date.
