(KNSI) – One of the state’s top elected officials will be in Waite Park next weekend.

Attorney General Keith Ellison will host a Protecting Minnesota community forum on Saturday, March 29th, from 12:00-1:30 p.m. Anyone interested in attending must first RSVP. Ellison’s office will then send a link with the address for the event at a later time.

Ellison will present on efforts by his office to thwart what he terms federal attacks on citizenship, privacy, immigration, the LGBTQ+ community, abortion, and other hotbed issues in the early months of the Trump administration.

Waite Park is the fifth stop in a six-city tour. It kicked off on March 13th in Minneapolis. Other events include Thursday night in North St. Paul, Saturday in Moorhead, and April 5th in Duluth.

Ellison has been involved with federal lawsuits trying to overturn executive orders that would end support for transgender care for minors. He was part of a coalition of 20 attorneys general who sued to slow down federal workforce firings.
