(KNSI) — Nestlé USA has issued a voluntary recall for several batches of Lean Cuisine and Stouffer’s frozen meals due to potential contamination with wood-like material.
The recall affects Lean Cuisine’s butternut squash ravioli, spinach artichoke ravioli, lemon garlic shrimp stir fry and Stouffer’s party sized chicken lasagna. All of them were produced between August 2024 and March 2025.
These items were distributed at major U.S. retailers.
The recall follows reports from consumers, including one potential choking incident. Customers can check for affected products by locating the ten-digit batch code on the side of the packaging, near the “best before” date.

Consumers who have these products should not prepare or eat them, and they should be returned to the store where it was bought for a replacement or a full refund.
The company says it is actively investigating the source of the wood-like material and is confident it is an isolated issue and has taken action to address it. Nestlé USA says it is working with the U.S. Food & Drug Administration and the U.S. Department of Agriculture on the recall and “will cooperate with them fully.”
