(KNSI) — A 37-year-old man is behind bars after allegedly groping a woman and a teenager at a store in Crossroads Mall.
On Saturday afternoon, police were called to the store and spoke with a woman who said she was shopping with her daughters and their father and were near the fitting room when one of the girls became upset after seeing someone walk toward her. As the woman was looking for the person, prosecutors say Cory Christensen came up behind her and forcefully groped her. She said he grabbed her so hard, she lost her balance.
The teens’ father saw Christensen, got a hold of him, and yelled at him. He was able to keep him detained until security arrived and the police were called.
According to the criminal complaint, another shopper, identified only as a girl under the age of 16, told police Christensen also groped her.
Christensen allegedly told investigators he had been at CentraCare – St. Cloud Hospital that morning because he had used methamphetamine. When he was released, he took a bus to the mall and walked into the store. He admitted groping two people and the second girl he grabbed was “the wife of Lenny, his father’s best friend.” Neither the woman, nor the teen said they had ever met Christensen before.
He has been charged with one count of felony fourth degree criminal sexual conduct, and gross misdemeanor fifth degree criminal sexual conduct. Christensen has been ordered to undergo a mental competency exam. Bail was set at $25,000. Christensen is due back in court March 27th.
