(KNSI) – A teenager was flown to a Twin Cities hospital after crashing into a field near Sauk Centre.

First responders were called around Sunday to an accident on County Road 29 near 375th Avenue in Getty Township. The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says 16-year-old Isaac Hokanson was heading south when he lost control of the car, struck an approach, and was vaulted 350 feet before coming to a rest in a plowed field.

The Sauk Centre teen was the only person in the car and suffered serious injuries. Hokanson was treated on scene and then airlifted to a hospital in the Twin Cities for further treatment.

The crash remains under investigation.

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Sauk Centre Police Department, Sauk Centre Ambulance, Melrose Fire, Life Link Helicopter, and Minnesota State Patrol.
