(KNSI) — A rally is set for this morning ahead of a vote in the Minnesota House of Representatives on a measure that will shape the future of girls’ sports in the state.
House File 12 will certify that girls’ sports remain exclusively for biological females, “preserving fairness and opportunity for young athletes.” An executive order by President Donald Trump bans transgender athletes from competing in girls’ and women’s sports at all levels, and the Minnesota State High School League says it will not cooperate.
The rally is at 11:00 a.m. at the State Capitol to show support for the bill. National girls’ and women’s sports advocate Riley Gaines will be in attendance, along with House Speaker Lisa Demuth.
