(KNSI) – The Minnesota Department of Transportation announced its upcoming list of projects, and several will affect drivers in the area.

The first is in Waite Park. Crews will resurface and update the County Road 137 bridge over Highway 15 this summer. Tree and brush clearing started this past month, and machines are expected to start moving in early June. The bridge deck will be resurfaced, and approach panels and joints will be replaced, along with other repairs. The bridge railing, steel barrier approaches and lighting will all be upgraded.

Highway 55 from the Clearwater River through Stearns and Wright Counties is getting a facelift this summer. MnDOT will resurface and update Highway 55, and a detour will be put in place. Crews are replacing the top layer of concrete, resurfacing bridge approaches and making other needed repairs. The bridge will also get upgrades to its railing and steel barrier approaches. Work is expected to start in June.

Work on the Interstate 94 Gap Project is continuing this spring. Starting next week, crews will clear trees and debris to prepare work areas. Drivers may encounter shoulder closures or off-peak lane closures. The work zone may change locations from day to day. When it’s finished in 2027, 94 will be three lanes in each direction.

Other potentially disruptive work will take place on Highway 169 in Sherburne and Mille Lacs counties this spring. MnDOT will update and improve eight bridges (four in each direction) through Princeton. Drivers should plan for delays or find an alternate route, especially during peak days and hours.

Nineteen miles of Highway 238 between Upsala and Little Falls will be resurfaced and updated. Work there is expected to start in mid-July.
