(KNSI) – Summertime brings the crowds out to Quarry Park, increasing staffing needs.

The Stearns County Parks Department is doing seasonal hiring for caretakers, gatekeepers, maintenance aides, and maintenance staff. Everyone hired has to be at least 18 years old and willing to work weekends.

The caretaker helps with cleaning and monitors the trails. They are responsible for safety, including being able to report an emergency to first responders and respond quickly on scene when needed. A crew leader will oversee other seasonal hires.

The gatekeeper greets visitors, sells parking permits, and gives out information on the facility and programming in a friendly way that will bring people back for a trip in the future. Quarry Park is located in Waite Park.

Maintenance aides and maintenance staff are being hired across the county. Aides will landscape and mow, act as custodians for the bathrooms, and perform basic building maintenance. Aides coordinate with maintenance staff. The Stearns County Parks Department oversees 2,600 acres of land at nearly 20 locations.
