(KNSI) – Wildwood Ranch is rustling up maple syrup tours again at its facility at Kraemer Lake – Wildwood County Park in St. Joseph.

The sugar shack is now in its fifth decade of producing award-winning, sweet, delicious syrup. Each spring, they pull back the curtain to show the public the complex process that turns maple sap into a breakfast treat. Tours are planned at the top of the hour from noon to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 23rd and 30th.

Visitors will get to walk through the maple forest to see how syrup was collected, both traditionally and using modern techniques. Processing equipment like the reverse osmosis machine and evaporators will be running.

The event is free but space is limited so anyone intending to go has to register through the Stearns County Parks Department online recreation catalog. Organizers recommend boots in case the forest trails are muddy.
