(KNSI) – A sailor from St. Cloud is getting recognized for her support role in a mission to protect the nation on the high seas.
Hospital Corpsman 1st Class Kaitlin Fernlund is shown fulfilling her duties by checking oranges for signs of spoilage while aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Wayne E. Meyer (DDG 108).
The shipment was part of a replenishment-at-sea operation in the Pacific Ocean held in late January. The ship is part of the U.S. 3rd Fleet and conducts routine operations in the Pacific region.
