(KNSI) — The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is asking taxpayers to remember at risk wildlife when filing their returns.
There is a box to check on the state forms to donate to the Nongame Wildlife Program Fund. The money is used for conservation work, funding wildlife research, habitat improvements, and educational programs like the popular DNR EagleCam and FalconCam. Donations are tripled thanks to matching funds from Reinvest in Minnesota critical habitat license plates.
“Minnesotans value and support wildlife diversity and natural resources, and the Nongame Wildlife Fund tax checkoff is a great way to do that,” program supervisor Kristin Hall said. “Together, we can work to ensure a future for at-risk wildlife.”
Look for the loon on Form M1 Individual Income Tax and Form M1PR Homestead Credit Refund to donate when filing on paper. Donate online anytime by clicking here.
