(KNSI) – The National Weather Service has issued a cold weather advisory starting at midnight as unseasonably cold temps settle in over the region this week.

Air temps Monday will get into the low double digits, but the wind chill will make it feel more like -15 to -20. Overnight Monday into Tuesday, air temps will be around -20, with wind chills closer to -30. As of Monday morning, the cold air advisory ends at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, but that won’t be the end of the cold.

Tuesday’s forecasted high will be 0, with a wind chill of -30. The overnight lows will be -15 to -20 on Tuesday night and Wednesday night. Daytime temps are predicted to be in the single digits above zero on Wednesday and Thursday. Thursday night’s overnight low is expected around -10. The area may see a high of around 20, with a chance for snow on Friday.

The average high this time of the year is 21.
