Stearns County Launches 2025 Nordic Ski Sampler with Prizes and Free Lessons

(KNSI) – With enough white stuff finally on the ground, the Stearns County Parks Department says it’s time to take advantage of the great outdoors.

This weekend marks the beginning of the 2025 Stearns Nordic Ski Sampler. The county parks department and Nordic Ski Club of Central Minnesota are putting on the event between Sunday, February 9th, and Sunday, March 9th.

The sampler encourages people to enjoy the local cross-country ski trails at Quarry Park, Warner Lake Park, Mississippi River Park, and Kreamer Lake-Wildwood Park.

For each park a person skis, they can register their name for a prize drawing. Ski all four parks or join the ski club for a bonus entry. The winner can glide away with a free Quarry Park parking pass, Revolution Cycle & Ski or Fitzharris Ski & Sport gift card, or Wildwood Ranch Maple Syrup.

If anyone doesn’t know how to ski, have no fear. The ski club is offering free cross-country ski and snowshoe classes on Sunday at Mississippi Park. To sign up for lessons, click here.
