(KNSI) – Everything needed to enjoy the great outdoors is coming indoors this weekend for the 37th Annual St. Cloud Sportsmen’s Show.
Around 130 boat and RV dealers, tackle makers, resorts and fishing and hunting guides will be at the River’s Edge Convention Center from February 7th through the 9th. Show manager Barry Ceniako told KNSI News it’s never too early to start planning warm weather getaways. “If you wait until March, April, even May, to start looking for where the family is going to go in June, July and August, those prime dates are already going to be gone. The resort owners and the lodge owners go from show to show for one purpose, to fill in their calendar. So you don’t want to wait too long.”
Ceniako says a fan favorite for the kids returns this year. “We are bringing back our live trout fishing, and it’s just $3 they fish for trout. When they catch the fish, they can either put them back into the pond, or we’ll put them in a bag on ice, and we’ll hold them for them, and you bring them home and you clean and you cook them, whatever you’d like to do.”
Walleye Fishing Hall of Famer Ted Takasaki will demonstrate the best way to use slip bobbers and jigging tips for walleye. Professional angler Tom Huynh will teach how to use the latest innovation in fishing, forward-facing sonar.
There is also the Wildlife Adventure Center featuring live animals. It’s $12 for adults and $6 for kids between 6 and 12 years old. Tickets are availbe at the door all three days. For more details, click here.
