(KNSI) – Rock and roll Hall of Famers ZZ Top will be in Waite Park this summer.
The legendary group will hit The Ledge Amphitheater on June 12th with special guest The Wallflowers. Expect to hear their signature blend of blues and up-tempo guitar-driven rock as part of the Elevation Tour. The men should come dressed sharply, except for the sunglasses, and of course, beards are welcome. Women are encouraged to show a little leg as they turn the concert venue into a southern Texas dancehall.
Formed in 1969, ZZ Top originally became known for its energetic live act, something that remains a point of pride today. The group had a charting single with just its second album and “Tres Hombres” was a top ten record. The biggest success for the group came in the mid-80s when ZZ Top became one of the first groups to take advantage of MTV. In total, they racked up over 50 million in record sales.
In 1997, they headlined the Super Bowl XXXI halftime show, and in 2004, ZZ Top was inducted into the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. From the top of the entertainment world to our backyard, you can buy tickets to their Waite Park show through a special venue pre-sale at Ticketmaster on Thursday beginning at 10:00 a.m. The general on-sale public date is Friday.
