(KNSI) – Catholic Charities is reporting that the annual Mardi Gras event lived up to its name, helping fatten the organization’s wallet by $386,000.

Over 620 people attended the event on January 25th at Rivers Edge Convention Center to raise money for emergency services like the food shelf, financial assistance, transitional housing for women and children, and clothing programs. The night included a gourmet dinner and silent auction.

The Vista Jazz Band and the Fabulous Armadillos provided music. More than 50 volunteers gave their time to ensure the event was a success. President and CEO Aaron Fisk took time to thank the donors. “Our Mardi Gras celebration exemplifies the generous spirit that exists in each of us and comes to life when we help our neighbors in need. It’s the same generosity of spirit demonstrated in the work we do together at Catholic Charities every day.”

A date has already been set for Mardi Gras 2026. Mark Saturday, January 31st, on the calendar.
