(KNSI) – The White House is touting an immigration arrest made in Minnesota as part of its nationwide weekend crackdown.
The Immigration and Customs Enforcement St. Paul Office picked up 41-year-old Mexican national Octavio Juarez-Bonilla on Sunday. The man had been convicted in Hennepin County District Court last year for possession of child pornography on a work computer, which is a felony charge. He was sentenced to 45 days in the Hennepin County Workhouse in October by Judge Paul Scoggin.
An anonymous tip started the investigation in March 2024. Bloomington Police were sent two files that had been uploaded to Facebook. Both showed sex with underage girls, one believed to be as young as ten. Law enforcement was able to trace the upload back to Juarez-Bonilla, although they don’t believe he participated in the making of the videos.
They raided his apartment on April 1st and confiscated his cell phone, which had a locked folder full of explicit videos and pictures of underage girls. Juarez-Bonilla confessed to investigators that he received pornography, including that involving children, from Telegram and WhatsApp. He also admitted to sharing some of the files.
The White House’s official X profile touted the arrest of 613 criminal illegal aliens on Sunday alone. It labeled Juarez-Bonilla among the worst and highlighted that he was taken into custody.
