(KNSI) – A man was sentenced to prison on Monday after being convicted on two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct.

According to the criminal complaint, in March of 2024, police were called to St. Cloud City Hall to talk to a woman who said she had been raped. The victim told officers on December 13th, 2023, she had been living with Ahmed Hussein Ibrahim and he was supposed to help her book a plane ticket out of state. A few days later, the woman said she told Ibrahim that she had booked a flight on her own and the next thing she remembers was waking up with no clothing on and being shown images of him assaulting her. She explained that tried to leave, but Ibrahim stopped her and assaulted her again. The 30-year-old man also threatened to show the pictures to her friends and family.

Investigators found those pictures and videos, leading prosecutors to seek extra prison time due to aggravating factors. Judge Andrew Pearson handed down a 20-year sentence instead of the typical 12 years for a first-time rape conviction. Ibrahim was given credit for 322 days in jail and must register as a predatory offender upon his release and submit a DNA sample.
