(KNSI) – The St. Cloud Police Department is holding another session of the Dog Walker Watch to help dog owners become an extra set of eyes and ears in the community.

This month’s meeting is on January 28th from 6:30 to 7:30 at the St. Cloud Police Department headquarters. It will focus on the Violent Offender Task Force. Attendees can learn more about the VOTF and what it does from investigators who are on the team. They’ll also be taught about drugs currently circulating in our communities, what to watch for and be informed about.

All dogs who are non-aggressive and well-behaved around people and other dogs are invited.

The program hopes to enlist people getting their pooches some exercise as spotters for potential suspicious activity in their neighborhoods while they are out.

The training is free, but officers need a head count. To register for the event, click here.
